It’s a privilege and honor to join the Puma Community as your new principal. I am a native of Northern California and have lived in Santa Rosa for the past 23 years. This will be my sixteenth year in education. I started my career as an elementary classroom teacher but then moved to become a high school education specialist within Petaluma and Santa Rosa City Schools.
I enjoy being an educator. It’s inspiring and fun to support and be in community with students and adults, constantly learning, growing, stretching ourselves to meet goals, and experiencing a sense of accomplishment as part of a Life-Long Learning Team!
When I'm away from campus, you will find me spending time with my family or extended church family. For recreation, I enjoy most activities outdoors, ranging from concerts and camping to exploring California coastal towns.

Hello PUMA Country!
I grew up on the other, colder coast and taught in Maine prior to moving to California in 2001. After a year teaching in Healdsburg, I joined the Rincon Valley District in 2002 where I spent sixteen years as a classroom teacher, a district Math Consulting Teacher, and a Site Director at RVCS-Sequoia.
I joined the MCHS Puma family in the Fall of 2018. I am honored to be working with the staff and teachers at Carrillo. They are a dedicated team that strives to support each student on their academic journey. Here at MCHS, I have had the great privilege of growing and learning with so many scholars and their families. I look forward to the time when we are all back on campus again.
During non-Covid times, if I’m not at school, you’ll often find my husband and me court-side or field-side throughout RV cheering on one of our three active kiddos or walking our golden retriever, Princess Leia.

Albert Ettedgui
Hello Pumas! My name is Albert Ettedgui (Al-Bear – Eh-Ted-Gee) I am entering my twenty-third year of service to the students and families of the Santa Rosa City School district. The journey and the experience has been incredible, and I feel so thankful and fortunate for the privilege to continue to serve, learn and teach as part of your Maria Carrillo Administrative team.
I came to Sonoma County in 1990 to play baseball and pursue my Political Science degree from SSU. With the exception of a couple semesters abroad at Tel Aviv University and a little work as a lobbyist in D.C., I never left this community that I grew to love thirty years ago. I am a proud father of two amazing sons, and I am excited to share that my oldest son is a Puma class of 2020 graduate. My youngest will graduate in 2023.
For fun I have volunteered as a coach for the Santa Rosa Junior Hockey Club and Rincon Valley Little League. I play in the Snoopy Adult Hockey League, and I also enjoy golf, mountain biking in Annadel, hunting and fishing. My greatest joy comes from being a father to my two sons. I am looking forward to many great years serving our Puma students, families and teachers.
